FAQs

What is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture is an ancient type of healing practice within Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Thin needles, no thicker than a strand of hair, are inserted into very specific points in the body that lie along 14 major channels or meridians. These major channels maintain the balance of the body’s vital energy, or Qi (pronounced ‘chee’). When the Qi is out of balance, illness occurs. Acupuncture addresses the improper flow of Qi in the body’s energy channels and works to correct the body into a harmonious and balanced Qi state.
